Hi,
I just purchased a 2001 Sebring LXI 4 door.  I like it.  It is not perfect, but....
There is a front grinding in the wheels and I believe it to be the rotors.  This is a known issue.  Has anyone come  up with a solution to get rid of the problem.  It has been suggested that I get slotted and drilled steel rotors.  Does anyone actually KNOW that this will solve the problem?  Any Suggestions?

ok, simple..........look at the rotor. feel it. if its grooved that means the pads are worn down past where they should be, bad maintenance on someones part. replace pads, replace rotor, no need for special drilled and slotted rotors. drilled rotors on a street car are actually a very bad idea, tend to crack. 15 bucks per rotor, cheap pads, be on your way.

thats wrong again there can be hard spots on either the pad or rotor and have a grove in them  seen it more then enough times  the worst that will do is cause some noise.

i like how you said there CAN be hard spots. doesnt mean there are hard spots on his. He said it was grinding. by going off of what he said the first thing to do is make sure that the pads arent worn to the metal backing, which would start grinding into the rotor, thus destroying it. then again, im not looking at his car, only going off of what he is describing. a groove in the pad wouldnt necesarilly cause a grinding noise. what i consider a grinding noise would be metal to metal. seen it more than enough times when people neglect to change pads when they should.
