2001 Sebring engine swap 2.7 to 3.0

I have a 2001 Sebring conv.  with a blown 2.7 and would like to swap it with a 3.0. I need to know can this be done? I dont want to put another junk 2.7 in. thanksRuss

No. It will not bolt up.

what if I had a 2004 sebring coupe that was wrecked in the rear and I had the whole car. Engine,trans,computer,exhaust,etc . I would almost think it can be done. I m sure it would be alot of work but you would end up with a nice car. Russ

The engine and trans would fit, in the body. But you will have a problem with the wire harness. You are going from a V-6 to I-4 DOHC.

 the controllers will cause you problems, not worth the swap.

Thanks I did buy a 2.7 motor with 16000 miles on it out of a 04 sebring sedan. The only differance is the egr valve. I should be able to swap the rear exhaust manifold and intake from my motor to the new one. Is there anything I can do to get the most out of this new motor? Everyone has this slugging build up problem. Can something be done to stop this? Is there a certain kind or oil I should use to get a longer life out of this new motor? What would you do? thanksRuss
