Over the past three weeks the CEL has come on displaying code P0404...I believe this is the EGR malfunction code. The light will come on for a few day...go off for a few day...then come back on. This has happened three times now.
Is it recommended to replace the EGR valve when this code is given...or could it be from something else? I hear it is a dealer part, but would it be easy for me to do myself? Anyone know the cost or part number?
The van is the 2005 Town and Country LX with 3.3L engine.
I tried to embed a couple pictures...is the EGR valve any of these?
Thank a bunch,
Joe

I looked around and it looks like there are some people that say this error coming on intermittently may be caused by the cold-air intake clamps being loose? Where those are I have no idea though. I also found this site for replacing the egr valve on a 99, but from the pics, it looks fairly similar.

Replace the EGR valve and take it to the dealer and ck for any updates.
