About 5 weeks ago my wife got a tire puncture. The "Self Sealing" tire doesn't seal in Alaska (its too cold), so it could not be patched. Still waiting for the replacement tire!! Any thoughts on an alternative tire? I think I am done with "Connies" since they can't get me a tire after 5 weeks. thanks madbrad.

Check with your dealer. I believe the newer models come with Goodyear ComforTread all-seasons. Only if you got Protection Group II are the Conti's still the OEM tire.

My Conti tires on my '05 300C were worn out by 16,000 Miles. Neither Conti nor the dealer did anything for me. Rather disappointed.

Many folks have had "issues" with the Continental tires... thus the switch by DCX. However, my experience has not been so. I currently have 28k miles on the original tires of the '05 300C we bought used a year ago, and we've put 14k miles of those on the car. Looks to me like they will go at least 40k at the current rate. Although I will go with a GY or Michelin when it comes time to change, I have no complaints.

The same is true for our '06 Heritage Edition. Currently the Conti's are at 11k miles and are wearing every bit as good as those on the '05. Both are Self-sealers.

So... I guess it depends on luck, or vehicle specifics, so I count myself lucky!

Just a word from the new B... Coming from BMW, I can tell you that we had nothing but problems with Continental tires for years now. If it wasn't that they were worn out after 20K, it was that they were so loud you had to yell to be heard over them by 10K!!!

I went to dealer and was told other owners are complaining also. I have the 300C 2005. Chrysler puts these tires on the option Protection group. I am pissed like you.

Well I'm on my way today to rid myself on the Conti tires.  Have only 25k miles (highway) and they are prematurely worn and slight cupping (which I do not believe is suspension related).  I'm planning to do Goodyear's.
