your first mistake is to rely on on a parts supply place to tell u whats wrong with your car do u go to a food mart for medical help or do u go to a DR that is trained in this situation.
What were the codes from the check engine light?

This is PRICELESS.......WE techs Bust our arses all day long to figure stuff out and we ae called thieves at least 3 times a day........But some monkey with a universal code scanner has you running around town buying unnecessary parts , because he has NO CLUE.....
Gotta Love It.....
Now..... First things first...2005??? Intrepid doesnt exist ...so thats out.....
731 is a Gear ratio error, followed by 720 which is an Output speed Sensor CKT failure.
Think........If output speed is Invalid...How does a trans controller pick the correct ratio???? Fix the 720, and 731 will probably go away all by himself.
118 is a coolant sensor code....Simple enough to check....It indicates an Open CKT....so if the wires arent broken, and PCM isnt fried....The sensor is bad. The easiest way to do this...is to unplug the coolant sensor, and short the terminals with a paper clip....If the code goes to 117, or shorted...you have found your problem.
TAKE THE TCM's BACK.....If they let you....and spend that cash to have someone COMPETENT look at your car!!!
