Default 2000 300M, missing,

Hi. We have a 2000 300M, the engine light came on, then started to flash. Now she misses when you drive. We replaced the plugs, no change. The older plugs were burning equal and nice color. Then put in some fuel cleaner, thought the injectors were dirty. But so far still the same. Then just now, sitting in car revving it to 2000rpm, turned the power on for heater(no fan on) the car started to rev up. Now really baffled, what could be the problem? Don't want to spend too much in-case..............HELP

Default 300M missing

We didn't do any checking for the light. I keep hearing people saying something about twittling with the key to get a code. Is there a way? If yes how do we do that?

LH platform cars are very sensetive to system voltage.
1684 indicates battery disconnect in last 50 starts. How old is your battery? If close to 5 years old it is due for replacement. Terminal connections at the battery and jump post under the hood need to be disassembled, cleaned and reassembled on occation. Even if thy "look good" need routine cleaning. This can cause a misfire condition due to low voltage.
If it constantly misfires you can islolat it by disconnecting the signal to the coil and see if it runs the same or worse to isolate to one cyl.
How old are your plugs ? Book says 100k but 70-80k is more reasonable life.
Once you clean the battery connections see if the codes come back . If 0340 persists, change the cam sensor. Use OEM dealer part. Aftermarkets don't last.

Do not mess with your battery If u do any of the above it will erase any and all codes and information pertaining to this issue and that will make it that much harder to figure out whats wrong.
The 1684 code will be in just about every single Chrysler car known to man its a null code has no meaning.
