Default 2000 300M transmission leak?

Good Morning guys,
Just bought 1 2000 300m from a friend of mine.He owns a car lot,and told me
it had a BIG transmission fluid leak.I have not had the time to get it on the ramps to locate the problem as of yet. Another friend of mine(that seems to know these tranny,s) told me that there is a solenoid pack mounted to the outside of the transmission that is "prone to leak".
Evidently, this leak happens mainly when the car is in drive, which leads me to think its related to the pressure side of the cooling lines. Its going to be a couple of weeks before I can really look into it,but are there any inherant leak locations that I need to keep in mind?
