Default 2001 300m tranny 1st/rev lockup

when i put the tranny in 1st or reverse its like there is no line pressure until you stap on the gas at about 3000 rpm it slams into gear, then shifts through all gears like normal. until i slow down to a stop then try starting again, the stupid thing is that its intermittent, which makes me think its just a sensor! Anybody have any ideas before i start dropping cash on needless parts?
