Default 300M starting, idle issues.

Recently, seeming in conjunction with the "flickering lights syndrome" my 2003 300M starts, but immediately loses power and dies. I start it again, the RPMs are below 1000 and it will feel like it will die, but runs. This only happens after the car has sat for an extended period of time, usually overnight. It has displayed the check engine light once, but I did not have the opportunity to check codes. I do not have the car currently, in the shop again trying to chase down the electrical problem and the idle problem. The dealership has had no success with the flickering lights, but they have experienced the poor idle, but no solution. Any advice is appreciated.
