Default 99 LHS heater core

i was loosing coolant, I noticed the pressure cap was bad so I replaced it, flushed the cooling system and added fresh coolant at 50/50 mix, well all went well for a week then suddenly vapor coming thru the vents heat defrost or dash, so I've concluded the heater core has a hole in it, so its time for dash removal, DAMN DAMN DAMN, big job. I had to order the heater core which will take a few days. My question is can I clamp off the 2 hoses and at least drive the car till it gets hear. I know on ford v8 you can but not sure on the chrysler.

Thanks
Keith

remove the hoses and put a small pipe to make the coolant pass between the hoses.

ok thanks, I was hoping to avoid recovering the refrigerant and refilling the a/c. Is there anything unusual I need to be aware of?

Thanks

I replaced the heater core today, not to bad, took about 5 hours total. On reassembly I noticed the plastic load limiter in the center of the shifter broke and wouldnt allow the key to turn. I noticed there was a recall on this C45.

I cant seem to find the part number. Does anybody know what that is.
