What is the best way to remove the oil filter from my Concorde? There is barely any room for my hand or a tool.

 

For the price off oil and a filter plus your time and having to responsibly recycling the used oil you are better off finding a coupon for the $19.95 oil change at a local oil change business. They even top off all your fluids and sometimes vacuum.

 

There are several different types of oil filter wrenches. Some wrap around the filter and require room to swing, some are like a big socket and fit over the end of the filter.
Forty+ years ago, I used to stick a screwdriver through the thing on my '60 T-Bird. Nowadays I let the boys at Valvoline have the headache. I agree with Chris, look for a cheap deal and grab it.

 

In the summer, I use the socket type(usually with some cardboard in it to get it tight), and in the winter, I let the local oil-change shop do it. My 2 cents worth!!

 

Ahhh nooo, never use oil services places..19.95 special, yah maybe but the cheapest oil usually and filter, plus they try to up sale you tons of stuff you dont need. Most the time you should be able to take off the filter be hand. I have the same car, sometime I use those filters with a grip, it can help. Just remember, turn it till it touches the about a 1/4 turn more. Over torqueing it down, leads to most the problems getting it off. Not trying to give anyone a hard time about oil service places...but the best way to know you car better is to get your hands dirty, no 20 bucks and a little saved time, if you save time, is worth more than that.
