Exclamation Inner CV Joint trouble

I have a 99 Concorde LXi and we are replacing the entire right side cv joint axle shaft as well as the control arm. We have gotten the cv axle removed from the hub and the control arm off no problem, but we've hit some random snag. We can't seem to pry the inner cv joint from the transaxle case. We've been using a flat bar to pry it loose and have tried turning it one quarter turns several times to see if the ring on the inside would let loose, but it will not budge. Is there a trick to removing the inner cv joint on this Concorde?

Unhappy Ain't happenin

Seriously spent another 2 hours yesterday trying to get the joint off. The snap ring would not release no matter what we did. We have sprayed with penetrating spray like crazy and it's not doing anything. The joint moves up and down, side to side, and you can pull it out til it catches up on the snap ring. Is there any reason why this snap ring will NOT let loose??

Ended up having to use a ridiculous amount of leverage!! We just soaked the joint where it joins the transmission with penetrating spray and then attached a rachet strap to one side of a busted car we had next to mine and then attached a chain to the strap and the cv joint. Then we racheted super tight and knocked the joint with a mallot to get it to wiggle loose. It finally came off but it took 3 days and all this awesomeness.
