Default Bushing location

The inner tie rod bushings are located at the end of the inner tire rods, bolted to the center of the rack and pinion steering gear. Just about the center of the windshield and down about a 12 to 18 inches. In order to gain access to them, you will need to remove the air intake tubing from the air filter assembly to the the throttle body. If you require alot of room, the strut brace and the wiper module can also be removed. Two large bolts secure the inner tie rods to the block. These bolts are secured with a turn-lock, keeps them from backing out. Remove the outer tie rod at the struts, then the innner at the rack. Next take it inside where you won't freeze. The bushings press in and out. It isn't easy. I usually just replace the inner tie rod due to this. Also remember to lube the adjustment threads, your alignment guy will appreciate you for it.

Good luck,
007.
