2001 Chrysler Concorde 2.7. 270000 Miles. Have the good old clunking noise when going over quick sharp bumps. I know allot of people have this problem and I've done allot of reading for what is causing it, but nothing seems to fix it.
This is what I have replaced so far.
- Tension Strut Arm and bushings
- Control Arm and bushings
- Sway bar bushings
- Inner and Outer Tie rods and bushings.
- The bushings that go to the steering rack
- I forget what these ones are called, but their is two sets of four of them. Two sets of two ( upper and lower ) at the front of the engine and two sets of two ( upper and lower ) at the back of the engine. The lower one is about the size of a donut and the upper one is close to the old style dollar coins.
I think that is about it. The car drives fine otherwise. Steering is nice and tight and the alignment is good.
I'm running out of this to replace and would like some input. I am starting to lean towards motor mounts or transmission mounts, but I don't get the typical clunking during braking or acceleration that you would expect if those had gone bad.
Anyway like I said running out of ideas, any input would be great. Thanks ahead of time.
