Default 02 sebring ECT testing

got a 02 sebring with a 2.7.. cooling fans arent kicking on..
I replaced the water neck housing cause it was leaking.. it had the new ect installed in the housing ( cooling fans didnt work before) anyway if i disconect the ect, the fans kick on after a short delay.. if i hook the ect back up they will kick off after a delay.. I didnt find any fuses or broken wires.. I tried looking online for a diagram but no luck. I think its either wiring or the pcm. Oh almost forgot the dash temp gauge doesnt work either..nor do the dash lights.. I beleive the ect sends a signal to the pcm, which then send a signal to the cooling fan realys to turn the fans on, also at the same time the pcm sends a signal to the dash gauge so the driver can monitor the engine temp.. Plus the pcm uses the ect data to comand other operations like air fuel mixture at cold starts and idle..
anyone have a test proceedures?
thanks

With the A/C off, the low speed fan should kick in at 220°F (104°C), the high speed fan at 230°F(110°C). (It's a pressurized system so the coolant temp can exceed normal boiling temps.) With the A/C on and pressurized the low speed fan comes on at 210°F. The fans are not designed to run all the time. When the engine cools down again they turn off.
It sounds like your fan motors are fine, and the fact that they come on when the PCM loses the signal from the ECT says that that part of the system is working exactly as it should.
What exactly are you expecting to work differently?

ok, the car overheats.. the cooling fans do not kick on nor does the dash gauge work.
but if i unplug the ect the fans kick on and the car cools down. so I can also text the fan with my scanner and they kick on. but why wont the kick on with the pcm command

Since the dash gauge doesn't work, what are you noticing to tell you the car is overheating?
