brand new to forum with a question...
2005 sebring convertible (touring model)....V6 engine
Thinking about buying it (my ex is storing it for a friend)
153k---automatic--extremely clean-good looking car..looks like no one but driver sat in it
can buy it for $1400.00
It has a P0113 code...something to do with the IAT or wiring
If it is a wiring issue...that is out of my league i think
I was hoping to own it for one summer and then get rid of it for a nice profit
Can anyone direct me in how best to proceed?
SHould i buy the iat (i dont know where it is yet or what it looks like) and take a risk? If its not the problem...I just lose the money and tell him "no thanks" (or maybe he might say take it for $1000...??)
thanks guys.....in the meantime i will try and do a search

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
IAT = intake air temperature sensor. My recollection is that it's located in the tubing leading from the air filter box to the intake manifold. Possible that somebody forgot to plug it back in when changing the air filter. Get a manual, like Haynes, for information on what it does, where it is and how to replace it. Decide for yourself whether you and your toolbox are up to the task.
If you decide to take the plunge, plan on spending the summer making sure the maintenance is up to date in between joy rides with the top down. Be aware that you might find you want to keep the car.
