Default A/C light blinking and blowing hot air

On my 2001 lx Sebring the A/C light starts blinking about minute or less after I turn it on. It starts blowing hot air. I noticed that my Rad fans kick off at the same time. Do you think it is a bad relay or something else?

With the A/C system it could be many things. The system charge level may be low. That might indicate a leak.

I charged the system but I am no expert. It does, though, seem to blow cold for the few short mins that it does work. This started by kicking out at odd times. Now it kicks out more than it runs or as soon as I turn it on.

Sounds like a leak. There are ways to find leaks. If you don't want to invest in the tools and knowledge necessary to service an A/C system, take it to someone who has done so.

Default A/C unit malfunctioning

My 2004 Sebring had the same issue. I had the A/C recharged which helped for a bit but the A/C did not stay on. As it turned out, my unit needed to be replaced entirely, a costly endeavor. The car was totaled soon after so I never did find out the root cause. Hope this helps.
