Default "gascap" Warning light

The gascap warning light came on in my car. I tried removing and replacing it, but it still comes on.

Default Engine stalls

The engine stalls on my 08 Sebring. Usually at a stoplight it cuts off and sometimes it revs up way high. This happens sporatically. I have taken it to our local shop. They said they put the computer on it and found no codes. It is just something I have to live with. It seems dangerous to me. Any suggestions?

Try taking it somewhere where they know how to fix these cars. Like a dealership.

My closest dealership is a joke. The next closest place is almost 2 hours away. Any actual helpful advise?

Find a better garage. If they tell you to just live with an obvious problem, they obviously don't know what they are doing.
The problem with a sporadic issue like the one you describe is that it could be caused by several different things. There is no one simple answer that will definitely work on all cars. It could be a vacuum leak, it could be a problem with the throttle body or the idle air control motor or the electronic throttle control ot the throttle position sensor or the pedal position sensor or the engine control module or the egr valve or the pcv valve or maybe something else that doesn't come to mind right now. Somebody who knows what he is doing is going to have to have a good look at it. That apparently has not yet happened.

Take it to a shop and get your evap system smoke tested. They will find the leak, if there is one, so you know where to go from there.
