Default New stereo, strange issues

I have an 05 sebring convertible that i recently installed an aftermarket stereo in. nothing fancy, i just wanted to be able to listen to my ipod thru an aux port. once i got it installed, my power locks in the vehicle and on the key fob wont work, as well as map lights in the vehicle. once i have the key in the ignition and turned over everything works fine though. fuses are fine. does the stock head unit have anything anti-theft/security related built into it? im really scratching my head here.
