Default Replacing Transmission Gasket/Filter need help

Hello,

I'm new to this whole forum thing I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring 2.7 Touring Sedan, and am about to embark on replacing the Transmission Pan Gasket, and Transmission filter and was curious if anyone could help me with helpful pointer that have worked for you since this is my first time doing this. First off is it much of a trick to access all the bolts of the pan? I have read people use RTV, and I've read about people using a gasket, which is the better approach? I've also read about people replacing an O-Ring while the pan was off, is that a good suggestion? I dunno I'm just curious of what you have to say, and would greatly appreciate any input I can get.....

Thanks!

I use RTV that's whats on it that's what gos back on it.
The o ring will come with a new filter make sure the old out comes off with the old filter or U will have issues with the new filter.
U can get to the bolts jack the car up or use ramps.
Clean off all the old RTV on the pan and tranny.

Thanks Chrysler Tech, I will follow that advice. Is there any special torque you need to screw the pan bolts to?

Thanks Chrysler Tech, I just wanted to give an update. I successfully replaced the Transmission Pan Gasket, and Transmission filter without any leaks. I owe alot of my success to you, I think it was on one of the other threads where you said for a person to use the Chrysler RTV because it can still bond to wet surfaces, I bought it used it and it works like wonders!!!
