Default Oil pressure sensor

Trying to help a friend troubleshoot a problem with oil light illuminating occasionally with engine at operating temp, at idle. I want to attach an oil pressure guage under the hood to observe pressure at idle, but I don't no where the sensor is located, e.g., top, bottom, side, etc. of the engine. If anyone wants to recommend a different troubleshooting procedure, please do so.

Thanks, Black Jack; do you know where the oil pressure sensor is located on the engine?

The oil pressure sensor is located behind the oilfilter.
