Default Sebring 2008: timing chain or belt??

Hello

I have a Chrysler Sebring 2008 Convertible 2.4 L, made in the USA.
I was wondering if it has a timing Chain or Belt? and when it should be changed?

I have a weird noise (like a vibration/metal rattling) from the left side (as u look) of the engine and my mechanic says its the alternator... but i'm not so sure anymore...

Pls help... Thanks!!

Chain. Try looking it up on line in parts catalogues. Weird noises are impossible to diagnose over the internet. Invest a few dollars in a mechanic's stethoscope and see if you can pinpoint the source of the noise.
