Default Transmission kick when stopping

Right when my wife's 02 Sebring stops (2mph or less), the transmission kicks. If I shift it into neutral, then stop, it doesn't do it. It sounds to me like a torque converter. Any ideas or similar problems with this vehicle?

Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid. If the answer to "When was the last time the transmission fluid was changed?" is "Never" or "I don't know", then change it first.
If that doesn't help, consider replacing the solenoid pack. If that doesn't do it, take it to a reputable transmission shop and get a proper diagnosis. Bring money; transmission repair ain't cheap.
