Default Advice for LHS needed

Hi gang!
I am new here and am hoping that somebody might be able to assist. I am a single mom, and the repair shops spot my automotive lack-of knowledge a mile away and charge accordingly. So here are the two things that I hope someone can help with,...

My vehicle is a 2000 LHS (basically a concorde or the like) and it is need of a tune-up. Is is an easy do it yourself thing, yes, I know how to change plugs and minor things like that, but I don't know what exactly is involved. If I was to take it to a repair shop, what should be a ballpark in the Detroit area for such a service (it always goes up when I call!)

Also, recently, while I have been driving, occasionally all my interior lights will flash on for a second. Sometimes doing it just once, and other times, multiple times in minutes. Does that sound like some loose wire? (It would have to be a main because it affects ALL my interior lights simultaneously) or could it be perhaps a fuse going bad? Anyone have this happen to them before?

Thank you for reading
Have a great day!

While I AM automotivly-challenged, I know I can rule out the doors not being closed properly! LOL! I will have someone run a diagnostic on the wiring I guess. I changed fuses last night and it still did it again. Doesn't look good to police when there is an occasional "stobe light" going off in the car.

Also, the locks on the door make a horrible sound when they are used, and only the front two doors will actually unlock. You then have to manually unlock the back one which is a pain in the butt. I was told that it is the cause of the "lock actuators"???? and that they cost $300-$400 PER DOOR to fix. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

It's a shame that in the last year that everything seems to be going on this car simultaneously. I bought it in 2005 (it's a 2000) and it only had 18K miles on it. Paid $7000 from a friends father. Has ALL available options PLUS a tow package, upgrade sound system. etc. Same ones without all the options with 45K-60K miles were going for $15,000 - $18,000 at the time at the dealers, so I shouldn't complain toooo much!
