Default EGR valve replacement

Hello,
I need some help here. I have a 2006 300 3.5 V6 and the check engine light came on.I took it to the dealer to have it scanned and got a code that read Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High. I was told that the EGR valve might need to be cleaned or possibly changed cause it might have some build-up on it. Has anyone ever have this problem and what did you do to fix it? I can do it myself< but not to sure were the valve is on this car. Any help would be great.

Default RE: EGR valve replacement

The ckt is the electrical part of the EGR so cleaning it wont do any good replace the whole thing.

3.5L

[ol][*]Disconnect negative battery cable.[*]Remove purge solenoid from bracket.
[*]Relocate the purge solenoid.
[*]Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector from EGR valve.[*]Remove the wiper module, (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/WIPERS/WASHERS/WIPER MODULE - REMOVAL) .[*]Remove shock tower brace and relocate.[*]Remove the upper intake manifold, (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL) .

1 - TUBE 2 - EGR VALVE [*]EGR valve (2) and tube (1).
[*]Remove tube bolts (1) to EGR valve (3).[*]Remove tube (1) from intake manifold.[*]When removing EGR upper tube assembly being careful not to drop the silicone rubber seals in the intake manifold. Clean gasket surfaces on the EGR valve. Note that any loose dirt can lodge between the pintle and the seat and cause valve leakage that will give a rough idle and depressed manifold vacuum.[*]Remove EGR valve mounting bolts (2).[*]Remove EGR valve from vehicle.[*]Clean mounting surface.[/ol]

Default RE: EGR valve replacement

I purchased my 04 pacifica in April 2007. Immediately after purchase, the check engine light went on, took it back to dealer and they ran codes 0441 & 0440, replaced the purge solenoid. Engine light went on again 5 days before the parts 1 yr. warranty expired but dealer could getme until a week later (after part expired). Ran codes, same part failed, they replaced and i had to pay 1/2 of parts and labor. I'm 3 weeks into having a new part and it has failed again. Does anyone know whats going on?

they may be putting perfectly good parts on your car. p0440 is a general evap system failure and 0441 is the code for the purge solenoid. Sounds to me that the nvld pump/switch need to be replaced.

Default replacing egr valve

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 with a 2.7 and need to replace the egr valve. I'm trying to find out where it's located and how to take off the intake. Is there anywhere I could find a diagram?

I just had my EGR valve replaced by Stauss auto. I did this because my check engine light was on and the code pointed to egr. Car now idles roughly while at light. Never happened before. Check engine light is off now but car running worse. I want to complain to mechanic but what did they do incorrectly?

Start a new thread from now on please. Your post gets buried in these old threads.

They probably split the seal on the EGR tube where it goes into the back of the intake.
