Unhappy programming extra remote key fobs for a 2010 300

Greetings all. I have a 2010 Chrysler 300 AWD Touring. I have read instructions on various forums in reference to programming some additional remotes and have been unable to get the car to the programming mode. What I was told is put one original, working key in, turn to run position for 3-10 seconds, remove key, within 10 seconds insert a second working key and turn to run position. Within 10 seconds or so a chime should sound and I should be able to remove the second working key and insert the new key. Unfortunatly, the car never goes to the programming mode so it will not accept any new key fobs. Any Idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Red face

After looking in the owners manual thr only thing that it says about programming the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) has to do with the features that can be done with the remote. There is nothing in the manual about adding additional RKE's, except to say the dealer can add up to 2 additional RKE's. I had no trouble adding an additional key to my 2007 Jeep Patriot using the above instructions, but they do not seem to work with the 2010 300. Any ideas would be appreciated.

if the owners manual does not tell u how to do it then more then likely need a dealer to program them
