Smile rear axle transfer fluid change 300C

How much gear oil is needed to change out the rear axle transfer case? My dealer says 3-4 quarts, but I read someone posted it was under 2 quarts - who knows for sure?

Secondly, this is the first time I am doing this. Where exactly is the transfer case?

Does anyone know how much gear oil a 300c takes in the rear transfer axle? Instructions would also be great.
