Updating Nav maps on '06 300C

I just received an upgrade notice for my navigation system - new maps.

My problem is that they want $200 for the disc. And given the advancements in the newer GPS systems, and the price of a really good portable, say Garmon, I am considering putting the $200 toward the purchase of a portable unit and justkeeping thefactory system in my car as is.

Thoughts?
