Default 2008 Aspen wiper stop problem

I have a 2008 Aspen also and the wipers are stopping about 4 inches up from the bottom of the windshield. They are not stopping at the bottom where they are supposed to. Is there a way to reset it or do I need to remove the bolt to the motor and manually change the stopping point?

When I turn the car on, it senses they are in the wrong spot and ghost wipes to try to reset them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

If I push them back down with my hand, they stay put until the next time I use them.

I'm not sure if there's a way to reset the resting position, but here's a TSB related to the 2008 that may be helpful:

SUBJECT:
Wipers Will Not Return To Park Position

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves diagnosis and if necessary, replacement of Front Windshield Wiper Motor.

MODELS:

2008 (HB) Durango

2008 (HG) Aspen
NOTE :This bulletin applies to vehicle built from December 17, 2007 (MDH1217XX) to January 31, 2008 (MDH0131XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The customer may experience the windshield wipers do not return to the "Park position when the switch is turned off.

Further investigation may show a DTC in the Front Control Module Central Gateway (FCMCG) - B2305 - Wiper Park Switch Input Circuit High (Stuck High).

DIAGNOSIS:

Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all electrical systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's other than those listed above are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If the above symptom/condition is experienced and the vehicle was built from December 17, 2007 to January 31, 2008, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Replace the front windshield wiper module using p/n 55077411AF. Refer to TechCONNECT for detailed repair procedures. From the Service Info tab select: 8 - Electrical > Wipers/Washers - Service Information > Transmission, Wiper > Removal and Installation.

2. Verify proper operation of Front Windshield Wipers. Do Front Wipers operate and park as designed?

a. Yes >>> Repair is complete.

b. No >>> Further diagnosis is required. Refer to the diagnostic information available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT.
