I needed to open the liftgate yesterday, and it would not open. I tried using the key fob, the button inside the truck, and the latch on the liftgate itself. All that happens is I get 2 quick beeps of the warning system of the liftgate and nothing else. Any ideas? If it helps it is an 08.

i have a 08 no problem so far, sounds like a dealer problem. just used mine today.

 

Your description of what happens says that the gate will not open at all. Does the gate unlock with the fob or from the door? (can you hear the lock solenoid inside the gate?) If you hear the solenoid, then the problem exists with the handle/latch. Is there anything caught in the latch on the inside? A blanket, rag etc? Can you use the handle and pull a little harder, have someone push from the inside as well? After this is done, then there is no other way but to access the latch/handle inside the gate from the interior trim panel, and THAT is not easy. You risk the chance of damaging the panel and who knows what else... time to let the dealer decide to destroy it or not... when you bought your truck, you bought a warranty, time to use it.
