So I took it to the a dealer $180 buks later he tells me that he alternator is bad and has possibly caused a voltage spike and has caused a falure in the abs Modular and has caused the ambiant temp sensor to go.

the alternator $380, ambiant temp sensor, $55 and wait for it ABS Moduler $589. I am so happy I sold my 04 Durango for this headach, did I meention I already had to replace the front end. I havent had this for a year ye and have sunk almos 2 k in it .

Sorry to hear about the alternator - I know that's frustrating. The front end issues were likely a function of how the last owner(s) treated the truck. Did you have it checked over before buying it to make sure someone didn't beat on it?

Hopefullly this is your last issue. I have a 2008 with 57,000 miles, and the only things it has needed outside of normal maintenance are a new serp/drive belt that cracked prematurely, and new tank and fuel filler neck, as it suffered from the fuel overflow problem that is becoming more and more common.

Good luck!

It was checked out by the delear and I did a check on it. The front end although not what I expected I have heard others having issues with the front end on Dodge trucks. To top it off sat at my mechanic today for 45 min for him to bring it back around and tell me that he had the alternator out and went to put the other end that he purchased from a dealer and it was the wrong one go figure.

Default Come on.

Hey I never said it was the dealers fault I have been dealing with this thing for almost 4 weeks. Just bad luck on my end. As for the comment on the shade tree bubba you dont know anything about the guy.

I just want the thing fixed I will be honest I uderstand the dealer has more overhead etc. but why should I pay them more money to do the same thing he does?

Well finaly got it reparied. Lets see the alternator replaced the ABS modular changed both bad. 526.00 for the ABS modulator parts and labor from the dealer, and 326.00 for the alternator through my mechanic, parts only. My mehcanic did not charge me for the labor because of his or the dealers screw up on the first one.

Just glad its done with. Chrysler costomer care is sending me 326.00 towards the abs modulator. Was very impressed that they stood by there vehicle.
