New CEL - Looking for advice P3449

Hey coyote, are you able to reset you code with a scanner?
I clear the code on the scanner, but the CEL doesnt turn off, not even for a second. Im wondering if my POS scanner doesnt have the capability to communicate to turn this light off?

Maybe the dealer has to use their computer to reset the code? (seeing how I fixed everything already lol)

Yes. My newer scanner will clear it. My original scanner, an Actron CP9135 wouldn't even communicate with the Aspen so I had to get a new one. An Actron CP9580A. It will read and clear all codes. It's a little expensive. I paid $150 from eBay last December but I see them as low as $125 now.

P3449 issue for 2007 Aspen 5.7 (200K MILES)
I have been getting this code for over a year. One of the first things I noticed failing on my Aspen was that it would not remain on if I used the key(button) to start my aspen from a far. Soon after the CEL came on. I finally took it to the auto shop (not dealer) this month and received a diagnosis to replace all 4 MDS. So i did. But with my own mechanic. The scanner reads the code, erases it, but code is right back on after we start the truck. The truck also does not remain on if i start the truck with the button on my key...i was hoping it did. Ive read about replacing the ignition coil to #7 and by the sound of this thread, ECM may be next. Can anyone relate? Any feedback would be appreciated.

P3449 issue for 2007 Aspen 5.7 (200K MILES)
So it was the PCM on my Aspen. My smog technician said PCM is a common issue in the hemis. Apparantly it wasnt a waste of money in changing the solenoids. The solenoids go out, sending a 12v charge to the pcm which gives off this error code, frying the board. No point in changing the pcm first if you dont take care of the solenoids first...at least thats what the tech said. He had made the mistake of changing the pcm first, which caused him to pay for two pcms. He had previously owned a Aspen and charger in the past. I hope this helps any of you.
