Question 07 Pacifica P0732 code?

Okay, turns out it wasn't the gas cap afterall. I took it to Auto Zone and code P0732 is what came up, something about Gear 2 incorrect ratio. Any idea what this is & ballpark of what it may cost me to fix?

Thanks

This is what the error code says:

Trouble Code: P0732 (3.5L V6 VIN 4 Auto)
A/T Additional Gear Ratio Error In Second Gear

Number of Trips to Set Code: 1
OBD II Monitor Type: CCM Details
Indicators: MIL Details
  • CCM Details
Trouble Code Conditions:
The transmission gear ratio is monitored continuously while the transmission is in gear. If the ratio of the Input RPM to the Output RPM does not match the current gear ratio, this DTC will set.
Possible Causes:
  • Related DTCs will be present
  • Transmission solenoid/pressure switch assembly has malfunctioned or failed
  • Internal transmission mechanical problems may exist
  • Intermittent gear ratio errors are present
not sure how much to fix though

Your Trans is slipping....

Now whether that is a result of internal defect, or incorrect data to the module, requires much more ability than a "GENERIC CODE SCANNER" can do.....
Check the fluid level, If you can....Some of these cars may not have a "DIPSTICK" and there are special tools required to do this.....
The best advice I can Give you...... all of the possible causes require some dissassembly of the trans to replace, and NONE of them are "CHEAP"...so...Take 100 bucks and have a COMPETENT Trans Tech Look at your car.....It seems a bit much to LOOK AT IT, but trust me....Its no where Near what you will spend on "GUESSING" and parts that you cant return.
