2004 Chrysler Pacifica - P0016 Crankshaft Sensor

2004 Chrysler Pacifica - P0016 Crankshaft Sensor
3.5 liter V6 - 221,000 Miles
• Cold Engine - Neutral / Park - Will not rev over 2500 +/- at 2700 backs to 2500, back & forth.
• Cold and Warm Engine - Drive - Generally will not accelerate over 2500 +/- easy throttle will sometimes get 3000.
• Warm Engine - Neutral / Park - Revs normally up to 4000.
• Warm Engine - Drive - After ignition off and restart - Will downshift 2nd gear to 1st gear normally up to 4000 - Otherwise will not accelerate over 2500 +/-.
Symptoms are erratic and sporadic - sometimes rare after ignition off and restart would drive normally. Recent Repair - Replaced crankshaft sensor for this issue with no results. Replaced camshaft sensor and cleaned throttle body over 1 year / 5,000 miles ago and solved this same issue, and took a 2000 mile trip without a hitch, now symptoms have returned. Cleared codes - P0016 pops up the moment the symptoms start. Next Step? Wiring? Thanks

called a computer software rev limiter they figure there is no need for u to be in park and rev the engine that high.
the p016 could be crank sensor as well have u read what the code reads?

Code reads -
Code Definition - Crankshaft / Camshaft Timing Misalignment
Possible Causes -
- Base Engine problem (e.g., the camshaft timing is not correct)
- CKP sensor connector is damaged
- CKP sensor signal is erratic
- CMP sensor connector is damaged
- CMP sensor signal is erratic
- PCM has failed
- Tone wheel or pulse wheel is damaged or contains debris
Reported fixes-
- Replaced Timing Chain -
- Replaced CMP sensor
- Replaced CKP sensor
- Replaced Timing Chain Tensioner(s)
- Replaced Water Pump
- Reset Camshaft Timing
- Performed Crankshaft Variation Learn procedure
- Performed PCM Programming
- Repaired 5 Volt Refernce Wiring w/P0304, P0344, P2074
- Repaired CMP Sensor Wiring w/P0304, P0344, P207
- Repaired Fuel Pump Connector w/P0304, P0344, P207
- Replaced Engine
- Replaced Flywheel
- Replaced Rocker Arm(s)
- Replaced Timing Belt Tensioner Pully
- Replaced Valve Lifter(s)
- Reset Timing Chain
----end---
This evening removed battery and battery holder and lifted PCM, checked all wiring connections and harnesses on driver side of engine and under PCM and found no corrosion, or bare, worn or loose wires. Next?
"• Warm Engine - Neutral / Park - Revs normally up to 4000."
Engine will rev when warm and restart to near 4,000 RPM. Limiter not an issue here I believe. Acts in neutral when cold same as when driving, not allowing revs over 2500. Symptoms are erratic - sometimes when warm, all is normal and will allow trans to kick into lower gears - sometime not.
