Default 2004 pacifica autostick problem

I have an 04 pacifica and as i was driving i noticed that the engine started to rev. I noticed on the dash it showed "autostick " but i was clearly not using auto stick. I stopped and shut the car off and then restarted; no problem. Same thing happened the following day! Today i tried autostick and it would not shift gears.
I should let you know that i dont usally bother with "autostick"!
Transmission shifts smoothly never had any problems before. Could it be a computer(module) error?

best bet is to have a scanner hooked up to it and see what the codes are in the trans computer first

We have had the same thing happen to us twice now recently. Two different mechanics said it was probably something wrong with the pressure valves based on the codes. In general though it runs great, other than randomly shifting into auto stick. Was wondering if you figured out a solution other than spending an arm and a leg to replace the transmission?
