2007 Pacifica, is the repair shop ripping me off?
I need my EGR valve replaced and the repair shop is quoting me $550 for the job. $250 for the part alone.
The factory parts I found online were in the range of ~$150. I also found this aftermarket one, for $92 Duralast EGR Valve EGR4397- ReadReviews onDuralast #EGR4397.
Can anyone with more expertise confirm that part would work on my vehicle? I'm thinking of just buying it at the shop and taking it to another mechanic. I know I won't have a warranty on it, but that's fine.

I won't opine on whether the shop is "ripping you off". Don't know. I do show "book" labor on R & R EGR valve at .8 hrs. As to your part, don't take just my word for it, but, assuming your '07 has the 4.0L, that valve is not the correct one. For the 4.0 it is the EGR4396 from what I see on the Autozone website and it is a bit more expensive.
I know one of my local, reputable tire/general repair shops will not install a customer supplied part. Not sure of your local folks. Good luck with it.

It sounds to me like you're getting ripped off. If the part is $150 and one hour of labor, yeah they're taking you to the bank! Replacing the EGR valve is not that hard to do. If you have tools and can R&R a few nuts and bolts you should be able to do this yourself. It's likely just a couple hoses to disconnect and a few bolts to remove the EGR valve. Just make sure to get the right valve.
