Default Auto Start

I purchased a used 2005 Pacifica Limited and I am having some issues with the factory remote start system. This is my first experience with a Chrysler so can anyone enlighten me on how it works.

Sometimes it starts when I hit the button twice but most of the times it doesn't work. It gives me a beep the first time and two beeps the second time...!#$@%! My wife drives it(she's carrying twins) and she has to get into a cold car in the mornings.

I read something on the valet mode so when it beeps twice i hold the button down for a few seconds and try again and it still doesn't work.

I took the car to the dealer for service and asked the service tech and he told me to press the buttons in a slower sequence(sounds like bull to me). AAAARRGH!! This is annoying!!

Default RE: Auto Start

If you want any help from the dealer, you would obviously have to show the tech HOW the feature does not work. I'd imagine there is a module that controls the auto start that may be shorting out or otherwise defective. If you are no longer under warranty, I'm not sure it's worth paying hundreds of dollars to replace it. As uncomfortable as entering a cold car may be for your wife, it won't hurt her or the babies. Good luck with those twins!
