Default Buying tires can be a chore.

Tried to buy four Bridgestone Blizzak DM-Z3 snowtires from two local shops and they frankly didn't seem interested in ordering or selling them. And then they wonder why folks do not support local business.

Just got done ordering them from Tirerack.com and even though it will end up costing more due to having to pay extra for the shipping & getting them mounted........... it's still easier than begging local places to do business.

if you check out www.discounttire.com they price match, free shipping and they tell you the cheapest place to get them mounted in your area plus they have this thing were you pay $19 a tire and they will replace them for free if you get a flat and cant get it repaired. dont even have to send them back. its pretty nice i ordered about 8 tires and got 3 replaced so far just pay the $19 again with free shipping.

I looked b/4 I ordered from Tirerack.............. They carry five flavors and none that I like.
Found a notification email that they shipped the tires out two hours after I made the order.

Tires are due tomorrow morning. I have a repair shop less than a mile away that will mount & balance them for $40.......... I give him $50.

New tires and wheelsare now on the Pac & they do provide what seems to be a better ride than the Michelins.
The downside ..... at least from the wife's point of view.... is the $1150. I've spent for dedicated snow Blizzaks when we really don't need to go out if its' snowing ................... Women .......... they don't understand and use logic on everything.
