Lightbulb CD Player Installation problems

I have an '06 Chrysler Pacifica and Im trying to install a Sony Xplod CD player in it. When I finished the installation, it played great. When I turned the vehicle off and back on, the speakers wouldn't play. I uninstalled the Sony and reinstalled the factory and the speakers played again. So I installed the Sony once again and it worked. Turned the car off and then back on and the speakers went out again. A friend of mine told me it could be the Pre-Amp and I would need a different wire harness. I went to the local specialist and talked to them about my problem. They asked if the previous cd player was an Infinity and I replied no. They looked up the different wire harnesses for the vehicle and they said there are only 2. The one I have now (which is basic and simple) and the type for the infinity cd player (which is more complicated I was told). Has anyone had any problems installing cd players in their Pacifica?

I am not an expert, nor have I done an installation on the Pacifica. However, I have run into an issue installing a stereo into a car with a factory amp, which I think you have. Essentially you either have to use an interface like this, or wire around the factory amp with a "bypass" harness thus driving the speakers with the head unit amp and/or additional amps you install. You will see the link is from Crutchfield. They are great to work with and their database is good for research. Click on car audio and then click on "outfit my car". That is how I found the link I posted. Good luck with it.
