Cruise control fixed - vacuum line
In swapping out my EGR valve, and removing the battery box, I found the problem that fixed my cruise control. It was a small vacuum line from the bottom of the battery box to the (vacuum tank?) thing mounted above the right side of the radiator. The line was cracked and corroded. Previously the accel button on the steering wheel appeared to do nothing. Now it instantly pulls the pedal from my foot and takes over, holding cruise speed.

I was able to cut off the corroded area, removed the remaining tube from the battery box side "L" connector, and inserted the rest of the good hose into the battery box "L" connector. Then reconnected to the battery box. There isn't any slack, but it reached fine.

It was vacuum canister instead of hose.......
Alright so I tinkered with the vacuum hose and could not find any problem with the hose. So I mentioned it to the mechanic on my last visit. It turned out that there was some problem with the 'vacuum canister'. After replacing the vacuum canister, cruise control is working just fine now.
