Front End Clunk Repair Questions
So I am finally getting around to replacing the bad parts. Both of my LCA's are bad and one of the stabilizer bar links has a torn boot so I am going to replace both of those while I am in there.
My question is in regards to taking all of the parts off like the manual states. Is all of that really necessary? From my view it looks like all you have to do is remove the ball joint from the knuckle and then the two bolts from where the LCA bolts to the frame. Why would you need to remove the knuckle, half shaft, tie rod ends, etc?

Yep got it done without removing everything. The vast amount of cluck is gone, but there is still a little bit. I will investigate the sway bar cushions next and see if they are bad.
However, I am now battling the damned horn going off whenever it wants. Wouldn't you know it, the car is due for a state inspection. Hopefully it doesn't go off while it is there today.

Replaced lowers, sway bar links and cushions, clunk was less, but still there.Check your new sway bar links,y no name Chinese knock offs were a little off in the stud diameter and length of thread so they were clunking in the holes.A couple of washers took care of the clunk, all quiet for the first time since I have owned it..
