My wife and I just bought two kayaks, and we are a bit clueless as to how we go about getting the right equipment to transport them. We have a 2007 Pacifica, but we do not have any side rails, cross bars, etc. So what exactly do I need? I guess we eventually need kayak cradles, but do we need side rails before we get cross bars?
Any help is appreciated.

I have an 06 Pacifica Touring and two kayaks. I found the regular cross bar rack tended to droop and the bolts on the j racks scratched my car soI purchased the mopar Sport Utility Bar set that clip onto the sides and two sets of malone J - racks. Shop the prices on the bar set I only paid approx 145.00 (new) and the Malone j racks I lucked out and bought 2 set for 50. on craigslist.
