Default my battery keeps going dead

We bought our 2nd Pacifica (loved my 04 but wanted all the bells and whistles) 06 AWD in Feb. About 3 mths ago while sitting in my car listening to the radio for about 10 mins my battery died. Then a few days later I vacumed the car and when I went to start it NOTHING. Brought it to the dealership - they said it had enough volts and it was registering good on all the tests. About 3 weeks ago when I left the tailgate open for aprx 15- 20 mins again dead battery. Brought it to another dealership - they said theydid the same thing I did for the battery to die (30 mins with the tailgate open) and it started right up. Tonight, I was 2 1/2 hrs from home on a Sunday night andwe had a door open for no more then 10 mins and the battery died!!!! I don'tknow what to do!!! Any suggestions I can go to the dealership with as a potential problem?

Change battery or the altenator. My guess is bad battery. This was happening to me in my '04. Changed the battery and haven't had the problem since.

Well, I went to the dealership today - they left the door open for 10 mins and the batt died!!! YEAH!!! They replaced the batt and then told me because my car is fully loaded that the car has a lot of batt draw ( whatever that means) and it is a problem with the design. I then asked what happens the next time I need to vacum out the car or load the car with the tailgate open - they told me to leave the car running. Is this true about the batt draw and it being a design flaw?

not a flaw if u have a real issue then it would die after 30 min or so. Here is the deal the cars are designed to time out after 8 min of no activity to prevent the batt from going dead. Now if u have some computer staying active or a short some where that would kill your batt faster then anything else.
I would not suggest that u vac out your car and have the key on and such with out having the car on. U can use teh dimmers to turn off the lights inside.
