Default Nav back up camera

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2005 Pacifica for my wife and had a question on the factory navigation. My question, Is there any way of modding a back up camera to the nav screen. I came across this http://www.tvandnav.com/pacifica.aspx but the price is pretty high for my budget. I was wondering if anyone was successful on modding a camera and tying into the video source of the nav's computer. Any thoughts or idea's would be helpful and grateful. I have found old forums about this but they lead to links that are dead. Thanks

I have seen some do it where they tap into the video signal on the screen in the dash. They flip a switch and they get the rear cam, they flip it back and get the nav. Some even made it so when put in reverse, it switches the screen automatically. If you search here and pacificaworld.com, you might find someone that has done it. The image maybe inverted so I guess flip the camera 180 deg.??

Maybe you can go to agency and tell about, so try that or you can get more information in rockauto.com

Thanks mrfixit454 for the response. I found an old forum from Pacificaworld.com that talked about it and had a link to another forum that had step by step instructions but it was deleted. Do you know if it is a VGA cable that connects to the screen?

Sorry they did not have the info.. that forum has been around for a while and got re-hosted and some of the old info is now gone. I have never heard of anyone tying into any of the video systems via VGA. It has always been a composite connection (RCA, yellow) connector once the video signal is found. I looked at the device you posted. It looks pretty cool and might be worth every penny instead of tearing apart you car..

Have you tried the same search you used on pacaworld in google?
