Default Pacifica radio then loses sounds after 5 seconds

The radio seems to work just fine for 5 seconds, then you lose sound. If you turn the radio off and back on again you have sound for another 5 seconds. Is this the radio, the amp, wiring? I'm not sure where to start. I'm going to try the dvd tonight and see what I get but any help would be great.

thanks

could be a lot of things. wiring, stuck button...

when the sound goes out, have you tried flipping the mode to FM or AM?

Please confirm if dvd is working.

I have tried changing am/fm and modes and it only comes back if you turn the radio off and on again.

The DVD player plays video but no sound.

The other odd thing is my wife says sometimes she gets in and goes and it works just fine. Make no sense
