I'm a 9 day owner of a 2005 Pacifica with 29000 miles. I filled my tank on day 3 of ownership. On day 7 I left home with over a half tank of gas. I drove 50 miles, stopped, and later restarted my vehicle. My gas gauge showed empty and thevehicle said "15 miles to empty". I knew there was no way the tank was empty, and when Ifueled up, I could only add 9 gallons. After reading numerous (I mean a lot!) of post on many sites, I realize this is a common problem, but I haven't see any recents posts, and the ones I saw stated nodefinitive solutions to the problem. Some time has gone by, and I am wondering if anyone has had this problems and has it successfully resolved, and, if so, how? Ilive in a fairly small town and contacted a local dealer to schedule a service appt. I told the serviceman the problem, and he said I would need to get the vehicle to duplicate the problem before I bring it in, which Iwould rather not do! Hopefully a larger dealer in a town nearby will have experience with the problem, but I would first likesome of myown info to take to theservice department when I make the appointment. Thanks!

 

some 05 pac haev fuel pump or PCM software upgrades depends on the build date of the car if u get a pump or a software update. They can tell u or u can give me the last 8 of your vin and i will find out

the recall has been done with the fuel pump but u are under warranty so take it in and go from there

I had the same problem 04 pacifica. The sending unit in the fuel tank is bad is bad . I hada 100,000 mile warranty so for 50.00 I got it fixed.

It will gradually get worse until it no longer gives you a read out.

 

I realize this is an old post. But did a search and found this thread. My wife has an 04 pacifica with this fuel pump problem as well as a battery/starting issue (and a couple of other issues with it). Is it possible to check the vin on this and see if anything has been done? The vin is 4R182180.

does not apply to your pac all recalls have been done.

 

I think theres something wrong with my whole dash board first off but my gas gauge doesnt work. & there was no oil in my car & the light never came on which is having me to think theres something wrong with my dashboard. If i give u my vin# could you tell me if i have any recalls? Thanks R631369, not sure if u need all #s, let me know & ill resend it.

Can you please check if my PCM would benefit if I ask the dealer to upgrade it? I'm having problems with my fuel gauge and they said that they will only flash if their computer connected to Chrysler would indicate that it would need reflashing.
