Default rad overflow tank

hey again guys , been a while, but i guess thats a good thing. On my 04 in the last couple weeks the overflo tank has overflowed and steamed a couple times, but the temp gauge is not showing a high temp, it actually poped the hose off at the rad ( the one between the block and the rad ), and that hosed has never felt tight as in being full, even when the overflow talk is venting. First thing that came to mind was the thermostat, but not sure so any suggestions guys.

I just had the EXACT same issue. Hose popped off the Rad and my wife thinks the overflow tank boiled over. I tested the t-stat and it was only partially opening in boiling water. I tried to install a new one and I have ended up with a bent leaking t-stat housing connection. I bought a new housing and I am still leaking so the t-stat must be dropping when I am putting it in. I am going to re-connect it for the 5th time tonight and I will post if that solved the issue.

Becareful on the replacement. OEM part has the T-stat "pinch pressed" inplace. The parts store placed the housing in a vise to punch out old t-stat and ended up bending the housing enough to cause a coolant leak when I re-installed it with the new gasket.

Default t-stat changed, but I don't think my fans are running.

I finally got the t-stat to stay in the housing by using a very small amount of permtex thermostat gasket silicone.
I am not sure if your check engine light is on, but don't just assume it is the normal once a week O2 Sensor code issue. I went to do my weekly clearing of my wife's 02 sensor check engine error and low and behold there was a P0480 relating to a faulty fan relay circuit.
Just like a slow/bad t-stat, radiator fans not operating properly could also cause the hose to POP off the radiator. That may be MY real issue.

The relay is $60 so I would rather not it if it is not needed. Anyone aware of any common heater fan circuit issues?
