Default Radio fuse keeps blowing up

Hi there,

I have 2006 Pacifica, couple of days ago my radio unit stopped working checked the fuse, yep it was blown. Put the new one it worked fine, half and hour later same thing fuse was gone. I also, noticed that MPG on trip computer was showing blank. After second fuse MPG came back on. Any suggestions what could be the cause of it. How is Pacifica's radio unit reliable? Thanks

Have you had any work done to the car lately? Repairs, stereo, something that would require access to behind the dash?

Couple of months ago I had to install new evaporator. So you know it is PITA. But stereo worked fine. What do you think it could be? Thanks

Well, here is my theory...

POSSIBLY, during the evap job, when everything was being put back together, MAYBE some wiring was pinched somewhere and has finally chaffed through to create a short circuit...thus blowing fuses. Again, this is a wild GUESS...I haven't seen the car. But, that would be the first thing I would look into if it were mine.

Electrical troubleshooting is a PITA!!!

Good luck!
