Default Timing Belt Question

I am in the process of changing my timing belt on my 04 Pac. I first had a AutoZone belt and every time I put the tension on the belt it would pull the Cam Timing Marks off. After a half day fighting that I went and got a Gates belt. I figured since the OEM was made by Gate it my work better. The Gates doesn't stretch as much but when the tension goes on the belt, my right cam mark is a half tooth off. Is that close enough or do I have the wrong belt. I have tried moving the belt one tooth and then I am a half tooth off the other way. I'm kind of in a bind, I really don't have the money to take it to a Mechanic and now don't have a way since it is apart.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank
