Default What is the best pacifica

This is not my first post here but for some reason my old user name is not working and i am using the same e-mail add for the past 8 years
What is the best pacifica ?
engine tranny

regular pacifica
touring
limited

This is my problem i want to buy a used pacifica for my wife 36th birthday
the problem is that i been reading for the past 4 hours and i found horror stories about people having engine problems with their pacificas
most of them are with the 3.5 engine losing oil
is there a particular vehicle, trim level that don't have all this problems ?

we have a town and country limited and pt cruiser and love both of the vehicles and never have any problems

I need to find a good pacifica
thank you

07-08 models depending on what you like for a trim level. I would've purchased an AWD model but I practically stole mine. I have a base model and I'm very happy with the overall quality and power of the 3.8 motor. Happy hunting.

P.S. Make sure they have the torque converter problem taken care of before buying.

From what I've read, it seems the models before '07 seems to be plauged with many problems. I bought my '07 Touring used with 9K miles last yr and haven't had any problems at all. It was a dealer demo, fully loaded and I pratically stole it at the price I paid. Be sure you test drive it and check everything out before buying. I also suggest purchasing one of the extended warranty programs as well.

I love my Pac. It's a very comfortable car to drive and it gets great mileage.

I believe the '07 model year was the first for the new 4.0L 6 speed tranny which is not the same engine in yout Town and Country.

Ive had my 2004 pacifica for 2 years now most the problems have been with the front end
after fixing every thing on the front end except for the shocks It is still loud when hitting bumps that's the bad, with the oil problem I had after replacing the sensor I haven't noticed it losing oil any more but I really don't drive too far though.I have not had some of the other horror problems that I have read about. The 3.5 is great, I think it is a really great motor and runs out smoothly. I would like to trade it in, but it is a good driving vehicle plenty of space, so I would have to say the 04 is a good year
just had new tires put on and gets great traction in snow has 49,000 miles once you get the bugs worked out of it, keep in mind the 08' hasn't been on the road that long to experience too many problems

We have an'07 Touring 4.0L with the six speed tranny. I think this set up is the best of the Pac line. I'd be sure to buy one with this power train. It became available only with the '07's. We took a trip last year to Alaska from South Dakota and return and averaged 23 MPG for the 8,000 miles. No problems.

supra92: The prices of all PAC's has dropped a huge amount. You don't say what you want to spend. Look at the NADA and see what a used 07 runs. The trade in on a AWD 07 AWD Touring is about $12,000. which a huge drop and worth it to a buyer. I have the AWD Touring 4.l and 6 speed and it's a great combo. and am very pleased we got 26.3 mpg last week on a 400 + mile trip. I would get one that is certified and you get the 82,000 mile warranty. That is well worth it.

good hunting.
